Of course it takes a lot of people power to make something this big happen, so contact Hospitality Chair Teresa Harrison, if you'd like to help out. She can use assistance Friday afternoon to help set up, Saturday and Sunday to staff the area, and Sunday afternoon to tear down. See our Volunteer Page for the benefits you receive as a NML&WF volunteer.
Guild DisplaysAll Day Saturday and Sunday or as Scheduled with HospitalityShow off your fiber talents, guilds! Get your members to dig out their best (or worst!) projects, with or without a theme, and bring them to the Festival to display. Your guild is responsible for bringing the items, arranging and watching the display during the festival, and tearing it down. The buildings are locked at night. There's no fee, but space is limited, so contact Teresa at 989 642 8895 or teresaharrison@ymail.com to reserve your spot as soon as possible. In 2008, members of the Far Flung Fiber Friends (NW lower Michigan) showed off their 2007 guild project: Making bags from felted scraps of commercial and handspun knit or woven cloth. Each participant provided some heavily-felted cloth, which was then cut up in a meeting into squares and other shapes. Guild members took pieces of each cloth home, and used it as desired to make items ranging from formal clutch bags to large informal totes. Many thanks to guild members Linda Van Andel and Julie Hurd for setting up the display. DemonstrationsAs Scheduled with Hospitality
